Students at an art exhibition

School of Arts

The School of Arts is North London’s home for the expressive arts at Middlesex University.

The School of Arts is North London’s home

A dynamic and international community of practitioners and performers, this is where experimental creative energy meets world-class research and professional guidance. With long-established traditions in fine art, the performing arts and creative writing/journalism, the School of Arts is an inclusive community where artists in a range of disciplines come to develop their creative voice.

All the arts are driven by a desire to bring creative expression to a public audience, so we focus on acquiring and developing the skills and industry knowledge to successfully exhibit, perform or publish. Our graduates are recognised as leaders in their fields, whether that is music, theatre, dance, fine art or creative writing and journalism. We have a strong collaborative vision and are dedicated to questioning and breaking down the barriers between disciplines, encouraging artists to reach beyond their established practices to forge new and surprising relationships and find new audiences.

Being part of the School of Arts as performers, artists and writers, means embracing fresh and innovative approaches to your discipline, enriching your academic journey, and paving the way for a fulfilling career in the creative arts.
