Research activities

Anju's key research interests focus on young adult mental health and well being, psychological distress, self awareness and qualitative research.


Current Teaching

Anju is a module coordinator and lecturer on several modules which are part of the BSc (Hons) Psychology with Counselling Skills programme.  She teaches PSY1021 (The Counselling relationship), PSY1020 (Mind, Behaviour and Context), PSY2005 (Qualitative research methods), PSY3039 (Therapeutic Psychology) and PSY3056 (Social, Cultural and Community Mental Health).  She also teaches the Trauma Experience and Interventions (PSY4223) module on the MSc Clinical Health Psychology and Wellbeing programme.

Anju supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate (Masters) dissertation students. She also supervises students on the Professional Practice module (PSY3024).


Biography

Anju Ajodah is a Lecturer in Psychology at Middlesex University Mauritius.

Anju's key research interests are in the area of young adult mental health, psychological distress and qualitative research methods. She is currently undertaking her Doctorate in Professional Studies in Education at Middlesex University. Her research comprises a case study, using mixed methods, which seeks to explore the phenomenon of student psychological distress from a University community perspective. 

Anju has a BSocSc in Clinical Practice in Social Work (Honours), BSocSc in Psychology (Honours) and MSocSc in Psychology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She also holds a PGCertHE in Teaching and Supporting Learning from Middlesex University.
