Research activities

My main research experience and interests are as follows:

Lifetime optimisation of wireless networks

Multi-objective optimisation (evolutionary algorithms, e.g. NSGA-II)

Wireless link quality estimation and anomaly detection

Resource allocation using optimisation techniques (cross-layer, routing, etc.)

Zero-touch provisioning of smart devices in IoT networks

More generally, AI for wireless networks and other applications.

I am open to research collaborations and discussions.

Current Teaching

I have more than 6 years of teaching experience including all levels (BSc, MSc and PhD).

I am a Module Leader for:

CST2133 Data Science and Machine Learning

CST3133 Advanced Topics in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

I am also a Programme Leader for BSc Computer Science (Systems Engineering).

Biography

Dr. Yetgin holds a PhD in Wireless Communications from the Next Generation Wireless Research Group at the University of Southampton. His experience includes a research fellowship in the Department of Communication Systems at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Slovenia. He has also held an assistant professorship in Turkey, gaining valuable experience in teaching, research and administration. Dr Yetgin has supervised both MSc and PhD students and contributed to EU-funded research projects. He has participated in various IEEE conferences as a member of the technical programme committee and is an editor in several journals. His research mainly focuses on AI for wireless networks, including vehicular, UAV and IoT systems, as well as resource allocation and multi-objective optimisation.
