Research activities

Theover-riding focus of Sepideh's research is on labour rights reporting and governanceof its related issues that promotes corporate accountability to broader workforce along global value chains.Sepideh’s research is in collaboration with researchers from different academicdisciplines, focusing on various aspects of labour rights at national andinternational levels. One her recently projects, funded by the Leverhulme Trust, provides insights into how the contrasting regulatory environments in Britain and Germany impact the extent to which large corporations from the two countries report to the voluntary Global Reporting Initiative Standards.  Sepideh has also led a collaborative project on CSR andits reporting by the largest Chinese companies located in different regions inChina.


Current Teaching

Sepideh’s specialist teachingsubject is corporate accountability, covering a range of topics includingcorporate governance, social and labour rights reporting. As part of herteaching, she introduces students to topical issues using scholarly articles aswell as some of the most recent cases. Sepideh encourages students to evaluate eachcase by engaging in debates and evaluative writing up evaluative reports. Sheis also responsible for Research Methodology and Methods module for Masterstudents. In addition to these, Sepideh supervises PhD students and has been externalexaminer to numerous PhDs.


Biography

Sepideh is an Associate Professor in Accounting and iscurrently one of the Research Leads for the Department. She joined the BusinessSchool as a PhD student when she was awarded a full scholarship. Sepidehcompleted her PhD in the field of social accounting. Sepideh’s main researchinterest is in labour rights reporting with a focus on regulatory environments inboth developing and developed countries.
