I am an:
Autistic Academic.
Autistic Creative & Technical Practitioner.
Autistic Transdisciplinary Designer.
Autistic practice-based researcher.
This, of course, doesn’t define me in the simplistic way which the titles suggest, but, as our ways of being and doing are indivisible, and as these are inherently political, and as visibility really matters, I think it is is important to lead in this way.
My manifestation within academia and creative and technical practice is complex: I’m a designer, maker, researcher, producer and excitable waver-of-hands working across the many manifestations of Product Design, Product Design Engineering, Design and Engineering Education and Public Engagement Research.
I'm Principal Investigator on the UKRI/STFC Legacy Award 'Climate Crisis - FLOOD!: An immersive, collaborative & scalable experience & co-production programme building on Space Plague' project, in collaboration with the STFC Hartree Centre, SMASH_UK CIC, Copper Candle, Lewisham Youth Theatre, the Flood HazardResearch Centre and the GLF Schools Foundation.
I am Project Lead on the Royal Academy of Engineering Ingenious Award ‘Climate Crisis - WILDFIRE!’, a collaborative public engagement research programme led by Middlesex University.
I am Co-Founder/Director of SMASHfestUK.
