Biography

Alison Broughton is a Chartered Management Accountant, CGMA, with over 10 years experience working banking and finance, areas of expertise in capital markets at HSBC. 

Alison has been teaching at Middlesex University for 15 years covering both financial and management accounting, both undergraduate and post-graduate level. In 2017, completed a MA Education, researching student perceptions of blended learning for Accounting and Finance programmes. Alison is the employability lead for Accounting and Finance, working with professional bodies, employers and alumni to enhance graduate outcomes for our students. Alison was awarded a Global employability award in 2021 by CIMA for her work in this field. In 2022, Alison was awarded a Global award for CIMA Campus Culture Excellence Award on behalf of the Accounting & Finance department. Alison's dedication to teaching excellence was recognised in 2022, when she became a Senior Fellow of  Higher Education Academy, SFHEA. In 2022, Alison was appointed Director of programmes for Accounting, Finance and Economics.
