Presently engaged with aproject to develop an Academic Toolkit as a resource for students to access insupport of achieving academic success.


Current Teaching

Teaches NIP 2803 - Developing Nursing Knowledge, which aims to build afoundational understanding of the nursing process and delivery of effectivecare across the adult life span, with knowledge ofillness and diseases. 

Idi currently holds responsibility as an academic assessor linking acrosscommunity practice placements supporting students and clinical staff. 

After completing training to support Fitness for Practice, Idi sits on the review panel of thesecases, utilising her expert knowledge to make safe and compassionate decisions forthose involved. 


Biography

Idi is a committedacademic andclinician who joined the University in the autumn of2022 as an Adult Nurse Lecturer Education Fellow. Having graduated fromMiddlesex as a registered nurse, with a wealth of experience working in theacute sector of the NHS, Idi returned to impart her knowledge and skills tothe next generation of nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Idi firmly believes in a growth mindset and is passionateabout creating knowledge development opportunities. This is reflected in hercontribution to a project promoting academic achievement for undergraduatestudents performing at various levels.

In her own professional development, Idi has gained affiliation with the HE Academy as a fellow (FHEA) and is actively pursuingrecognition as an Academic Professional. She has completed thein-house module leader workshop as a stepping stone to absorbing areas of responsibility.

Idi continues to support the NHS at a local level, in a lead capacity role offering clinical training and education to clinicians and students. Having completed a requisite programme of studies, Idi also functions as a Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA).
