Current Teaching

My current role at MDX is made up of a mix of different elements. I predominantly support the Children nursing students in practice. This involves visiting them in the clinical area during their placements and providing support and guidance. Furthermore, I review their e-pad's once they have finished their placement ensuring all components have been completed. Additionally, I support the team by facilitating some skills sessions at Stonex.

Biography

I qualified from Middlesex university in 2015 with a BSC in Children's nursing. I started my nursing career as a neonatal nurse, working as a band 5 nurse then progressing to band 6 after completing my "Qualified in speciality" course. This involved studying three modules at university level to become a qualified Neonatal nurse. Furthermore, I continued this job role working on an acute Neonatal unit, handling very sick and premature babies we required HDU and ITU care.

Next, I decided it was time for a change of scenery, therefore I moved to a different hospital as a community neonatal nurse. This involved providing the same high quality care to the babies and their families in their home environment. It allowed me to support the transition of those very complex babies and the families back into the community.

In April 2023, I returned back to Middlesex University as a staff member!. My current role is as a Part time- Practice associate lecturer- working with the CYP (Children and young people) nursing team. I also continue to work clinically as a part time- Community neonatal nurse.
