Santander partnership
It is a global network, which exists to help provide students with the support they need to become tomorrow's leaders.
Middlesex University is pleased to be part of the Santander Universities Global Division, which was established in 1997. Santander Universities' aim is to support higher education as a means to contribute to the development and prosperity of society. Since 1997, Santander has donated over £500 million in the shape of scholarships, travel grants, support to special projects, academic and non-academic awards.
The partnership enables Middlesex to develop and strengthen collaborative links internationally as well as create new opportunities for staff and students which include:
- Employability: Internships and International Mobility Scholarships
- Education: Scholarships and Awards
- Entrepreneurial activities: The MDXcelerator and Entrepreneurial Barnet Competition
The Santander Internships
The programme enables participating UK-based businesses, social enterprises and charities that meet the small and medium enterprise (SME) criteria to employ students and recent graduates. The scholarships relate to an agreed project or internship experience that students have completed through MDXworks, the Middlesex University Employability Service or one of its partners.
In order for a business to apply for an intern, or for students and graduates to register their details for this fantastic opportunity, please contact the Middlesex University Employability Service, MDXWorks at [email protected] or telephone telephone +44 (0) 20 8411 4923.
The Santander International Mobility Scholarships
Santander has provided a range of scholarships and awards to promote international exchange and study abroad and opportunities to enhance our international research profile. The International Mobility Scholarships support students who are already studying at Middlesex University and want to take part in an overseas visit for the purposes of study exchange, internship, volunteering, or a field trip, in order to broaden their experience and to develop key graduate competences, including resilience and adaptability.
The Santander Brighter Futures Grants
The Brighter Futures Grants is a new initiative, developed in partnership with Santander Universities, aimed at providing students with funding to support their studies. The grants can be spent on a variety of purposes including on living expenses such as accommodation and bills, or on study resources such as laptops, textbooks and stationery to aid learning. The grants are available to all Middlesex University students including undergraduates, postgraduates, part-time and full-time students.
The Santander MDXcelerator and Entrepreneurial Barnet Competition
Middlesex University's MDXcelerator Start-Up programme and the Entrepreneurial Barnet Competition partnered to offer a joint programme that is open to Middlesex University students and alumni, Barnet residents and students from Barnet and Southgate College.
