Course Overview

When combined with Avid: Pro Tools - Fundamentals I (PT101), this course provides the foundation for both Pro Tools User Certification and the later 200-series of courses on Pro Tools music and post-production.

Course content

This short course will cover the following areas:

  • Configuring your studio and session
  • Controlling Pro Tools using external controllers
  • Managing session data and media files
  • Using loop recording and advanced techniques to record MIDI and audio
  • Working with timescales and virtual instruments
  • Working with Elastic Audio
  • Editing and quantising MIDI and audio
  • Using audio editing and file management techniques
  • Applying editing techniques
  • Mixing using sends, returns, plug-ins, master faders and groups.

Upon completion of this course, you will have the knowledge to operate Pro Tools in a home studio or semi-professional environment. When taken with Avid: Pro Tools - Fundamentals I (PT101), this course provides the foundation for Pro Tools User Certification.
