Course Overview
It will be of interest to staff from primary care-based practitioners, mental health and social care professionals working in inpatient and community settings.
Course content
Clinical supervision has been an aspect of health and social care practice in various forms for several years; however, it remains challenging to ensure its widespread implementation across provider organisations. There is an increasingly evident need for formalised support in health and social care practice settings, so it is important to improve the quality of clinical supervision in these settings.
By the end of the session, participants should be able to:
- To define Supervision and be aware of the principles of Clinical Supervision and Management Supervision.
- To examine Policy and its application in practice.
- Review the distinctions between different types of Supervision.
- Examine the roles and responsibilities within the supervisory relationship.
- Enable the negotiation of a written contract for Supervision.
Develop and practice skills required to carry out effective Supervision.
