We understand the needs and challenges for professionals working within a wide range of public sector and private organisations. That's why we developed this course to benefit any practitioner who is looking to move into a leadership or management role, including those who wish to enhance their current managerial position.
Taught by experienced practitioners via distance learning to fit around your schedule, this course will challenge you to develop your own leadership role, with opportunities to critically evaluate your managerial style and apply knowledge within your workplace. Through a series of lectures and workshops you will examine the theoretical underpinnings of leadership with particular focus on models, influence, co-production and participation within service contexts.
Armed with these valuable insights and contemporary skills you will enhance your existing practice and future career prospects.

Course content
This course uses a variety of teaching methods and innovative resources to explore the following subjects:
- Critical thinking and decision making
- Theoretical frameworks underpinning a range of leadership models and their application to practice
- Change management
- Exploring managing emergency situations

Spring Module 2025 (taught two hourly via zoom 2-4pm)

Assessment
You will be assessed through coursework.

Qualifications
- If you choose to study the Level 6 module, you must provide evidence of successful study at Level 5 or the ability to study at Level 6
- If you choose to study the Level 7 module, you must provide evidence of successful study at Level 6 or the ability to study at Level 7.
