Course overview
This module is meant for nurses/practitioners working in the perioperative setting. It is designed to facilitate the student to explore, develop and advance their skills, knowledge and critical thinking skills in perioperative practice. This will allow the student to enhance their professional knowledge, critical thinking and competence in the perioperative setting. Sessions cover a range of clinically-focused and professional issues. This includes completion of assessment of clinical practice in the area, and demonstration of enhanced critical thinking skills.

Course dates: 24 January, 7, 28 February, 14, 21 March and 4 April
Fees and funding
There are several funding options available:
- Receiving course fees via CPPD contracts between NHS trusts and Middlesex University
- Paying your own fees. Per credit: £65. 15 credits: £975
- sponsorship by your employer (but not under a CPPD contract)

How to apply
NSA3511 is for practitioners who are currently working in the perioperative setting – ideally for longer than 6 months. You may use the module as part of a portfolio of modules within an MSc Professional Practice in Healthcare.
