Learning Outcome
- Critical analysis the role of the PNA in restorative clinical supervision and appraise models of supervision
- Appraise the personal qualities required in support of quality improvement through utilising the A-EQUIP model and relevant literature
- Critical appraise the importance of education and development with links to learning from experience, competence, accountability, management strategies and leadership.
Module Content
- Restorative clinical supervision, managing and learning from concerning practice
- Evidence-based and informed decision making
- Compassionate Leadership, coaching and mentoring
- Professional development, appraisal and revalidation
- Critical Thinking & reflection
- Resilience and emotional intelligence
- Models for quality improvement (QI)
- QI process, action plans, interventions, and quality assurance.
Learning and teaching
The module will run online for 10 days, using lectures and breakout groups on Teams or Zoom. It will employ various strategies for personal development, reflection, and discussion. Online resources, active platforms, and discussion groups will enhance engagement and critical analysis. Self-directed learning and additional readings will support level 7 requirements.
Assessment
The assessment with consist of two components as follows:
- Completion of Professional Nurse Advocate roles and responsibilities competencies completed in practice
- 15-min narrated presentation

How to apply
To apply for this module, please download and complete the Nursing CPD application form.
Applications should be submitted before the end of September, for shortlisting for interview. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a 20-minute online interview via Zoom. You will be interviewed by a member of the teaching team and a service user. Applicants who are a successful at interview will be offered a place for the January intake.
