About your course
This course integrates business and management theory with practice, emphasising practical learning and technological and analytical competencies. You will gain global and cross-cultural awareness and learn how to excel in the dynamic international business landscape. You will develop key business skills, knowledge and experience, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the professional acumen to deal with challenges in a fast-paced business environment. You will broaden your knowledge by focusing on key topics, such as the behaviour of people within organisations, and resource management. You will build on your financial knowledge and skills and learn about accounting within organisations. You'll study the course over three years full-time, or four years if you take the option of a 12-month placement.
You will study four compulsory modules in the first year. These modules are designed to give a solid grounding in the business and management subject, including key management, marketing, and finance concepts and digital skills in data analysis.
This module provides a foundational understanding of business data and the state of digital technologies. The module will equip you with the skills to effectively collect data, analyse, communicate, and interpret statistical information to address a wide range of business and management challenges. By introducing the integral role of digital technologies in modern and innovative business environments, the module provides insights into both the current state and the evolving landscape of technological advancements and its implications on business.
This module develops your financial knowledge within business organisations to enable them to make effective decisions and to assess the cost, economic and financial implications of these decisions. It provides you with an understanding of accounting and finance for business as well as learning the key economic principles that inform business thought and practice.
This module introduces you to management concepts, such as business functions, organisational structure, and work design approaches, stressing the importance of effective organisational communication, teamwork and the development of conflict management and negotiation strategies. This module provides you with an overview of key marketing concepts and apply them in a variety of organisations. This module provides a critical understanding of contemporary corporate finance and the tools to solve the financial problems confronting business today. Teaching
You'll be taught by an experienced teaching team with a wide range of expertise and professional experience. You will attend large interactive teaching sessions and undertake independent study and discuss what you have learnt in seminars and practical workshops. Most seminar groups have about 35 students. You will hone your practical business management skills via workshops, simulations, role-play, case study analyses and problem-solving exercises. Work is divided into credits of approximately 10 hours of study time. You will need to complete 120 credits per year, which are broken down into modules of 30 credits.
At our leafy north London campus in Hendon.
During your first year, your weekly timetable will typically consist of:
- 4-5 hours of large interactive classes
- 5-6 hours of seminars/ workshops/computer laboratory-based sessions.
Outside of teaching hours, you’ll learn independently through self-study which will involve reading articles and books, working on projects, undertaking research, and preparing for assessments including coursework, presentations and exams.

Whether you are studying full or part-time – your course timetable will balance your study commitments on campus with time for work, life commitments and independent study.
We aim to make timetables available to students at least 2 weeks before the start of term. Some weeks are different due to how we schedule classes and arrange on-campus sessions.
