How to apply as an international student

Applying to Middlesex is a quick and easy process, and we’re here to help you each step of the way. How you apply will depend on your level of study.

Important information for international students

Undergraduate - Year 1

If you have any questions about entry requirements and the suitability of your qualifications, please contact your regional team.
For entry to most undergraduate courses, you must have completed the Orta Ixtisas Məktəbləri (Technical/Vocational College Diploma) with an overall minimum grade of 3.5 or  3 for our Foundation Year courses.
For the International Foundation Programme we accept the Certificate of Secondary Education (Attestat) - minimum average grade 3.0 on a 5-point scale.
You must also meet our standard English Language Requirements. If you don't meet these or one of our other accepted tests, we offer a Pre-sessional English course. 

Undergraduate - Year 2 & 3

If you have successfully passed at least one year's higher studies in a relevant subject area you may able to enter directly onto the second or third year of one of our undergraduate degrees as a transfer student. We require 60 ECTS for entry to year two, and 120 ECTS for entry to year three. Acceptance is based on a curriculum match between your prior study and the syllabus at Middlesex. You must also meet our standard English Language Requirements, and as part of the application process you will need to provide a letter of reference from an academic source and a personal statement.

Post Graduate

For most postgraduate courses you must hold a Diplomu (Specialist Diploma) or Bakalavr Diplomu (Bachelor degree) with a min of ‘Good’. Some courses will have prerequisites, such as prior study in a specific subject, work-experience or the submission of a portfolio. Full details can be found within the specific course information page.

You must also meet our standard English Language Requirements. If you don't meet our English language requirements, we offer a Pre-sessional English course.

As part of the application process you will need to provide two letters of reference from academic sources and a personal statement.

The following requirements must be met in order for your visa application to be successful:

UKVI Requirements

  • Submit an online application through the UKVI website. You will need to submit your valid CAS, payment of the visa fee and immigration health surcharge
  • Upload the relevant supporting documents (passport, academic documents, evidence of meeting or being exempt from English language requirements, evidence of meeting financial requirements, ATAS certificate if required, TB test certificate if required)
  • Biometric data collected at the visa application centre

Successful applicants will receive an Entry Clearance vignette in their passport and will be able to collect their Biometric Residence permit in the UK.
