Important information for international students

If you have any questions about entry requirements and the suitability of your qualifications, please contact your regional team.

Undergraduate - Year 1

For most entry to most undergraduate courses, you must have completed the Certificado de fim de Estudos Secundários (previously Certidão do Décimo Segundo Ano) with a minimum grade of 13 - 15, depending on the course you are applying for.

You will need to provide a letter of reference from an academic source and a personal statement.

Undergraduate - Year 2 & 3

If you have successfully passed at least one year's higher studies in a relevant subject area you may able to enter directly onto the second or third year of one of our undergraduate degrees as a transfer student. We require 60 ECTS for entry to year two, and 120 ECTS for entry to year three. Acceptance is based on a curriculum match between your prior study and the syllabus at Middlesex.

You will need to provide a letter of reference from an academic source and a personal statement.

Postgraduate

For most postgraduate courses, you must have completed Diploma de Estudos Superiores Especializados. We require a minimum grade of DESE 14/20 for most subjects, and a minimum grade of DESE 16/20 for some specialist subjects.

Our MBA courses require at least two years of post-graduation work experience at management level, and in some cases a GMAT score of over 550 will also be required.

You will need to provide two letters of reference from academic sources and a personal statement.

You must also meet our standard English Language Requirements. Besides IELTS and other English requirements we now accept a minimum grade 16 or above in English at Certificado de fim de Estudos Secundários.

There are some exceptions to this for the following courses which require a minimum grade 18 at Certificado de fim de Estudos Secundários:

  • BSc Nursing
  • BSc Vet Nursing
  • BSc Midwifery
  • BSc Healthcare Science (Audiology) , (Cardiac Physiology) and (Neurophysiology)

If you don't meet these, we offer a Pre-sessional English course.
