How to apply as an international student

Applying to Middlesex is a quick and easy process, and we’re here to help you each step of the way. How you apply will depend on your level of study.

Important information for international students

Undergraduate - Year 1

  • Thanawhiya students must complete a foundation course - successful completion of a recognised Foundation Programme in the UK/ Internationally, or
  • Diploma from a Technical/ Health College, or Completion of Year 1 of a four or five-year degree programme in Saudi with CGPA of 2.5, or
  • IB 27-32 specific to course

Post Graduate

  • Bachelor Degree (4 years) from a recognised university with GPA 2.4/4. Minimum 50% for direct entry
  • International Foundation Programme – UKVI IELTS score of 5.5 (with minimum 5.0 in all components), or equivalent recognised English language test.
  • Undergraduate degree course – IELTS Score of 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in all components)
  • Postgraduate degree course - IELTS Score of 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all components)

If you have an IELTS score that is less than the above-mentioned requirements, you may apply for our Pre-sessional English course to improve your English language level before starting the course.

Other scholarships

You can also apply for the British Government's Chevening Scholarships, and a variety of private agencies and charities for scholarships, bursaries and grants to study in the UK. For more information visit the British Council website or the UK Council for International Student Affairs website.

The following requirements must be met in order for your visa application to be successful:

UKVI Requirements

  • Submit an online application through the UKVI website. You will need to submit your valid CAS, payment of the visa fee and immigration health surcharge
  • Upload the relevant supporting documents (passport, academic documents, evidence of meeting or being exempt from English language requirements, evidence of meeting financial requirements, ATAS certificate if required, TB test certificate if required)
  • Biometric data collected at the visa application centre
  • You must be able to provide evidence that you can meet the finance requirements if asked to do so, but you do not need to provide this evidence at the time of application.

Successful applicants will receive an Entry Clearance vignette in their passport and will be able to collect their Biometric Residence permit in the UK.
