Centre for Research into Creation in the Performing Arts (ResCen)

What is ResCen?

ResCen – the Centre for Research into Creation in the Performing Arts – is a multi-disciplinary, artist-driven collaboration where academia meets the professional performance art world.

Based at Middlesex University, we immerse ourselves in the study of the 'artist at work', examining the creative process that guides us from an idea to a finished piece – and then documenting and sharing this research to art communities, across all disciplines, and across all borders.

We also contribute to national and international policy and strategy debates that are igniting within the arts, helping us to challenge traditional creative methods of thinking and redefining what it means to be an artist working in the world today.
